rings!
i love this shot of Megan's ring...
We put it on one of those spiny-looking things from some kind of tree. Brenda would know the name of it, but i can't remember. I saved the thing, but now i can't find it. Anyway, I thought this was a particularly nice shot. I set the little spiny thing on a bench and the ring on top. You never want to try this in bright sun, so create some shade - especially for very sparkly rings like this one! Canon 100mm lens, 1/60s at f/5, hand held.

thanks guys. Chris, sometimes i think it's luck. i took about 5 frames, and hand held it's so hard to get a clean shot. megan's ring is stunning (as you can see) and when they are so bright, the reflection will kill you. it seems there is a very delicate balance of enough light to get a clean shot, and too much light that blows out the highlights. i loved the spiny thing. i wish i could find it. i put it in my bag, but i don't know where it went! when i find it, i'll take a picture of it by itself.
