We just got an email from Kerri Maravich, our awesome representative from the Knot! We were voted to be in the BEST OF WEDDINGS magazine!  The big National Magazine Best of Issue!  We are under Pittsburgh wedding photographers.

We didn't understand... we thought we had to apply for something, but BRUCE ERIK STEFFINE ran to the news stand in ARIZONA and got the magazine because he knew it meant we were already voted to be one of the BEST!  and he was right!!!  We were already voted!  I called Brenda to tell her the big news and her son, Jake, answered the phone - I told him to go wake his mom up it was URGENT! (it's late here in pittsburgh) Then Brenda and I called Bruce who was standing at the news stand and he read us the little editorial and the sweetest quote from a bridesmaid.  Who was that?  We have no idea who the quote was from - we want to thank you! 

Thank you so much, Bruce - you have no idea how you made our night!  You are fabulous!

This was such a pleasant surprise - Brenda and I are so thrilled that our clients have been pleased with all that we do, and we are sincerely honored to have been voted as one of the best by the Knot.  WOW! THE KNOT!  It means a lot since this comes as a completely unexpected surprise.  i'm kind of in shock - really.

So now i get to put this logo on our website and you'll see a BIG note across the top of our home page, too!  Thank you soooooooooooo much to everyone who voted, and to all our wonderful brides and grooms and bridesmaids and groomsmen!  You make it all so fun!

hey everyone ~ thanks for the feedback on the book (and my sister and my dog!)

alexander is a shih tzu (aren't you glad you know how to spell that now?)  we have a couple of eSessions this weekend - so more will be coming, along with a bunch of great new albums...  i've been using some new techniques - you're going to love them!

i am just thrilled with this new album we ordered!  this is a sample, so my sister modelled it for me.  the cover is called copper fabric, and this is our newest to the collection of albums.  this is an eSession album that we laid out for Julie and Steve.  it's 10"x10", and it is just gorgeous!  we will be using this same coffee table book for the Bella Mia Collection, too - but in black or red leather.  (BTW - here's the sample eSession layout i did for Julie and Steve's session)

oh and of course i had to take a few pictures of alexander!

Jill and I used to carpool to work.  Five years ago when i went to pick her up, she said she didn't feel well, and she wasn't going to work.  Tim, her husband, had her car as his was getting tuned up.  I said, 'Jill, I think this is it!'. She was so calm, and not so sure that it was time, but we got in the car and went to the doctor, while Tim raced through heavy constuction traffic to meet us at the office.  Several hours later, a healthy baby boy was born.  That was FIVE years ago!  I cannot believe it's been that long.

Yesterday, I took a few 'vacation hours' and went to Kevin's party.  Of course i had my camera!  Jill does birthday's in a BIG way ~ and this was no exception.  Jody and Meredith from Oogles~n~Googles were incredible!  They kept 20 five-year-olds mezmerized for 2 solid hours of fun and imagination.  Kevin's theme was a Super Hero Party, and the kids decorated masks and 'trained' to be super heros and finally got their capes and went on  to save the world!  WOW! What a party!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEVIN!

We got a little rain yesterday (ok, a lot), but that's good luck, right?! 

For a while now i've wanted to tell more about all the weddings we photograph, but i never seem to get all the info ~ this time i've got the goods!!  and be sure to check out the Moving Pictures here!

Kristin was stunning and Geoff looked so handsome.  What a fantastic wedding - i just LOVED all the details that Kristin and Geoff chose (ok, i know it was all Kristin!).  Her beautiful flowers were by Parkway Florist ~ roses and tulips and orchids!  All the flowers were so fresh and bright -

My friend, Laura flew in from Arizona to photograph this wedding with me since Brenda was on a well deserved vacation.  Here's a shot of Laura in action... 

we were able to start a little early to get a few details (like shoes) before the rooms were filled with all the girls!  you've got to see the Moving Pictures for Kristin's preparation photos - Bella Mia!

Kristin was a bridesmaid in Shannon's wedding about a year and a half ago  It was so nice to see Shannon and Bryan.  Didn't she look gorgeous?

Kristin and Geoff had a private meeting at the Airport Marriott before the ceremony.  This really helped to keep the day relaxed and gave us time to get some great stuff.  It also allowed Kristin and Geoff time to enjoy family and friends at the reception. 

Because it was threatening rain, we went over to Robert Morris University for photographs - what a cool stairway!  Then off to St. Bernard's for a formal ceremony.  Kristin had the Pittsburgh Trolley pick them all up, and it was great transportation, with style!  As soon as we left for the church it started to rain.  Just lucky!

The reception was at the airport Marriott in Pittsburgh, and the people there were great!  Maria helped me during the week to get the logistics worked oout.  Dinner was fantastic, and the cake was amazing!  Lincoln Bakery gets the credit for that!  I'm pretty sure that Laura took this shot of the cake...

Kristin and Geoff, you are such a delight!  It was truly our pleasure to photograph your wedding.  Thank you so much!  Watch for your album pre-design, and the proofs will be released shortly after that!

i'm off to arizona later today!  when i woke up to take xander for his walk, it was snowing and about 26°F!  i got to work really early since i have a 6pm flight and need to bug out before 5pm.

i'll be travelling light - no computer and no big camera bag, and xander is staying with my sister since he only likes to fly first class and it was full.  i am taking a camera body and a few primes, as Bruce and i will be doing some shooting together.  i also have a couple of pocket wizards in my bag - this should be an interesting trip through the airport.

tomorrow night we will be hanging out at the Biltmore, so if you are around scottsdale, come on over!!

the weather here has been crazy - and this is what it looks like out my window here at work right now!  yes! that's SNOW on april 5th.  it should be in the high 80s when i get to my destination.
